- "Summer Suffrage Tea"
Enjoy a light luncheon followed by a special portrayal of suffragist Dr Rose Kidd
Beere by historian Dr Rebecca Hunt. Reservations are required and a donation is requested.
$12 for JCHS members, $15 for non-members, $12 per person for groups of 4 or more.

- "Children's Tea and Party - Summer Olympics"
Fun and games in the Museum as children celebrate summer with an old-fashioned dress-up tea.
Reservations are required and there is a requested donation.

- "Fine Arts Festival"
Prestigious juried art show in Heritage Grove adjacent to the museum.

Children's Programs
Just Being Kids, Hiwan Homestead Museum
2008 Dates: Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, July 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, 24, 30, 31 & August 6, 7.
Hands-on classes for children ages 6-12. Each class will have a
theme and activities kids used to do many years ago. Call 720-497-7650 for more information or

registration form. Fee for materials is $2.50 per student per class.

Adult Programs
Call the museum at 720-497-7650 to register.
A book club at Hiwan meets on the 4th Wednesday of each month. The focus is primarily
on titles pertaining to women, children, and the West, mixing fiction and non-fiction.
If you are interested in attending this lively, but informal discussion group, please
join us at 12:30 PM. No reservations are required and you may bring lunch. Information
on the books being read may be found here.

Exhibits
"Brilliant Beads: Native Beadwork of the Wild West"
This exhibit showcases pieces from the 1800s through the comtemporary, from the collections
of the Jefferson County Historical Society, the Buffalo Bill Museum and Grave, the
Humphrey Memorial Park and Museum, and a private collection. Opening reception and preview on
Monday, July 7 from 5 to 7 PM.
